Meredith Meredith America AmericaAmerica Georgine Ferrera was an American actress who is best famous for her part as the main character on the tv show "Ugly Betty.' She has been interested in acting from the age of seven and has appeared in numerous school productions. Her first feature film, "Real Women Have Curves" made her famous. While her performance on the television show "Ugly Betty" was more well-known and attention, her performance as the principal character of the show gained her critical acclaim. This was reflected in the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress and the Screen Actors Guild Award and the Primetime Emmy Award. Her unique character in the show "Ugly Betty" and in subsequent roles after that led to her becoming to be a "role role model" for the young Hispanic women of the entertainment industry, and Congresswoman Hilda L. Solis expressed her gratitude for this. Ferrera, a member of Time magazine's list containing 100 influential people around the globe 2007 was named one of them. An ardent supporter of 'Save the Children', she has also been a spokesperson of it. For her social mission, she went to India for a visit with children of sex workers as well as to educate people about the dangers of sexual trafficking.
